Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a suburban neighborhood mini-park that commemorates a Boy Scout historic first. We live nearby and were surprised to see history in our own back yard.

This is an Offset Cache meaning that one must first go to the coordinates listed and from there glean the information to obtain the final coordinates of the actual cache. One may (carefully) park on the side street while hunting for it. Please be discrete during the hunt, retrieval and replacement and enjoy the history. The cache container is a Glad square-ish container with a blue lid, fairly well hidden from view. Don't forget to try our nearby Mini-Arboretum cache-1/3 mile away.

To get the actual coordinates of the cache, find the rock plaque at the posted coordinate. Using the FIRST dedication date ONLY, decrease the latitude (first set of numbers)by the number of text lines on the plaque. Next, decrease the posted longitude last 3 digits by (9 times the month number) of the FIRST dedication (line 3).

Have fun!

Please completely cover up the cache after replacing it.
