The Power Vista first opened in 1963, two years after the
Niagara Power Project began operations, and has since attracted
more than 6 million visitors from around the world. Admission and
parking are always free; the Power Vista is also
handicapped-accessible. The center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
(including weekends), year-round, except for certain holidays.
Admission is FREE !! For specific directions check

"…The Power Vista, as it is known, is located 4½ miles downstream
from the Falls, set amidst the spectacular scenery of the Niagara
River Gorge. Our recent renovations include $2.3 million in new
interactive exhibits that invite visitors of all ages to have a
completely hands-on experience as they learn about hydroelectricity
and the historic role it has played in the Niagara Frontier…
***Are you a fan of e-mail? Then send your friends and family an
electronic postcard over the Internet, using our computers to place
your image in one of four Niagara project backdrops.***
Be sure to check out the 7 foot Thomas Hart Benton mural of
Hennepin discovering the Falls, and also the Observation deck which
provides stunning views of the Robert Moses and Sir Adam Beck Power
Projects as well as the Devil's Hole area of the Niagara Gorge
****The “electronic postcard” mentioned above is how you will
log this cache. The computer station to do this is somewhere inside
the Power Vista among the many interesting displays. Simply take
your photo using one of the 4 backgrounds provided and then e-mail
to yourself by following the on-screen prompts. Then simply log
your visit with e-photo attached. (Please type your intended email
target correctly - the screen will not tell you if it goes thru or
not (Thanx Lowerfalls)
ALSO NOTE THAT THE POWER VISTA COMPUTER HAS IN THE PAST HAD THE
WRONG DATE (YEAR) THEREFORE IF YOU "DO NOT GET THE EMAIL" CHECK
DOWN IN YOUR INBOX AS IT MAY BE THERE...
