Geocache Description:

Just off the Chase Pond road, accessible from either the Stream Road in Moscow, or the Deadwater Road from Route 16. A Delorme Maine Atlas will help.

Located on publicly accessible land (thanks to Plum Creek Timberlands, Maine) near the Over the Horizon backscatter radar sites. To my knowledge, this billion dollar project was never used operationally. I suggest coming in via the Deadwater Road (visiting the Bingham Trestle cache on the way in) and leaving via the road past the radar site (take left off the Chase Pond road after visiting cache). This area is usually a good place to see moose towards dusk. A cache visitor posted the this link which provides more info about the site. Wikipedia also has a good article.

The huge radar antennas were dismantled in 2009. Here's an update on the Over the Horizon site..
