Geocache Description:


Well, this summer played havoc with everybody's schedules- fires, weather, bike rides, and babies... as if most of us weren't busy enough!

We had hoped to pass Sophie off in July, which became August, which became 'after fire season'. Finally! We have a few moments to get together, and welcome the many new members in the Missoula Geocaching scene. Last Fall we met everyone at one or two events, then bammo! Low turnout. We are hoping that despite the short notice, we can get a large group together once again.(and peacefully!) To entice a decent crowd, we are going to geocache for 'gate prizes'. Here's the plan-
  • Everyone will get to draw a set of coordinates, and find a film container with a number in it.
  • When the last seekers return (a time limit might be implemented), each finder will draw for a prize, in the order of the numbers they found. If you are particularly fast (or lucky), you MAY get to draw more coordinates, depending on the attendee/prize ratio.
  • At this point, the prizes are:
    • $25 gift certificate to the Catlin Gallery
    • 2 free buffets at Pizza Hut (one coupon)
    • 2 Large Pizzas of your choice at Pizza Hut (one coupon)
    • 1 Geocaching Mouse Pad
    • 1 Bison Keychain/micro cache container
    • 2 MOOG logo t-shirt transfers (two prizes)
    • There may be more...
Food will be Potluck- bring something you want to share with others. If you can post what you plan to bring, all will appreciate it, or we'll wind up with a lot of chips!

And as usual, Sophie will be in attendance and passed off by the Oconnellz to the next eligible holder. You do not need to be a member of MOOG to attend. All geocachers are invited. After all, MOOG is just a bunch of geocachers who like to get together, enjoy lively discussions on geocaching realted topics (which only occasionally bear a striking resemblence to heated arguments), eat, drink, and be merry.

When?: Saturday, October 25th, 4:00 PM.
Where?: At the coordinates posted above... or nearby. If you don't know what any of us look like, look for some people wearing official Geocaching t-shirts.
