Geocache Description:

Take a trip through Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum. The management has cordially agreed to having geocachers and letterboxers on their grounds. It is available Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Please respect the grounds and take time to admire the trees, flowers, and incredible monuments. You will need to visit ten markers on the grounds before you can get to the final combination cache and letterbox.

Be prepared to spend well over an hour on your tour.

The process is as follows: when you find the correct site, note the first three and last two digits on the marker. For example, if it reads "Born August 3, 1823 Died October 1, 1902", the three digit coordinate would be "318" and the clue would be "02". In the list of clues entry "02 reads "Fountain" @ -237 +175. The location of the next site would be N 39° 10.081, W 084° 31.493, which is a fountain in the middle of one of the ponds. The final coordinates were arrived at by adding 318 and -237 to get 081, the decimal part of the latitude and 318 plus 175 to get 493, the decimal part of the longitude.

All the markers are at N 39° 10.xxx and W 084° 31.xxx, so only the decimal portion of the coordinates need to be calculated. The only exceptions are the starting and ending points which are at the south end at N 39° 09.xxx* and W 084° 31.xxx.Park at the edge of the roads. You need to walk less than 100 yards to find any marker. Be sure to double-check your arithmetic.

Initally, the cache contained five travel bugs, a Canadian geocoin, the log, a stamp and stamp pad for letterbox enthusiasts, a car, pliers, carabiner, star pin, and several mementos of Spring Grove. Start at the entrance, N 39° 09.873, W 084° 31.379. Remember, the latitudes of the markers are N 39° 10.xxx.

The clues are as follows:
00 "Belle in the Lilies" @ -039 -014
02 "Fountain" @ -237,+175
25 "Bandmaster" @ +037 +545
26 "Master Sergeant" @ +175 +142
27 "Jane by the Angel" @ -226 +033
30 "Cache and Letterbox" * +727 +189
34 "Jacob's Tree" @ -064 +678
45 "Thistle in the Triangle" @ -045 +362
53 "Electricity" @ -558 -174
60 "Shipwreak" @ -169 +181
92 "Rest a While" @ +796 +489
98 "Gone fishing (near water)" @ -148 +072
