Royalty? In Calgary? Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

van der Decken: For the past couple of weeks I've looked and looked at this one. Given the proximity of the surrounding caches, there just doesn't seem to be any good place to relocate the final. I hate to see it go as much as anyone, but I'm afraid that it's time to go. The area around the final has really gone downhill over the years and it's no longer a place where I'd want to ask anyone to search. Risking getting stuck by a used needle with who knows what in/on it is too high a price to pay for any cache.

It's time folks. Sorry.

Geocache Description:

Up for a bit of a challenge? Tired of just downloading coordinates and then finding the caches? This one can be reserved for those rainy/snowy days when you are housebound but still want to work on geocaching. You will be required to decipher a brief note to find this Calgary cache. Give that gray matter between the ears a little exercise.

Examine the cipher below. Will you be able to decipher the message? Kind of looks Greek to me… but is it? You should be able to download the cipher, print it out, and use it as a worksheet.

THE COORDINATES ABOVE ARE NOT WHERE THE CACHE IS but if you drive by there, who knows what information one might find nearby? Once you figure out what to look for, an internet search can give you the key to unlocking the cipher. Be careful, there are a number of variations you can work with, some are better and more accurate than others. Hit the right one, and it becomes a piece cake… almost.

The final cache is in a high traffic area and open to prying eyes so be extra discreet when searching and please re-hide the cache carefully. It should not be left out in the open. When logging your find, please try not to include ‘spoilers’. I thank you for maintaining the integrity and spirit of the cache.

The cache-in-a-can contains the usual logbook, pencils, cachenote, the Finder’s Cards and an assortment of trade items. You will be directed to a 'largish' micro cache from which you will obtain the coordinates for the nearby final cache.

So comrade geocachers, have a little fun and happy hunting. Good luck!

Hints? If you have read this far, you already have 3 hints. If you need more, read my notes in cache logs.
