This is a short hike on National Forest land along an established trail past several ancient rock paintings. The actual cache is further down the trail away from the paintings. Some of these paintings are even visible from the road if one knows to look for them.
Welcome to the Central Oregon Art Gallery. Feel free to look around and explore, but PLEASE don't touch! The museum curator will be watching you, but may be a tad bored at times, so he might be willing to trade places with another travel bug. Be sure to leave at least one TB to watch over the Art Gallery at all times.
As you walk the trail to the cache, stop and look at the sights. If you have any insights into what you see, feel free to express your opinions here.

Stop 2: N 44 01.980, W 121 45.362
Stop 3: N 44 01.968, W 121 45.318
Stop 4: N 44 01.964, W 121 45.314
Stop 5: N 44 01.965, W 121 45.280 (Note: this one is way up and requires climbing to see clearly)
Stop 6: Use the given coordinates for the cache. The final stop is the cache itself, but of course, what would be the fun of just going directly to it?!
The cache is a large ammo box filled with many goodies and and even a First Finder's prize! Since we recently found our 100th cache, we figured it was time to give back. Feel free to trade what you wish, but Artistic items would be greatly appreciated!
Note: The terrain/difficulty will be much harder in the winter, since the main road is closed due to snow at Mt. Bachelor. Snowmobilers, horse riders, snowshoers, or skiers are welcome to search too! 6/19/04 The cache is in good shape after the winter. We are finding that the GPS signals get blocked when you get close to the cache, so the results are pretty mixed (today we got 44 0.956, 121 45.170, while the posted coordinates were averaged for over 15 minutes when we placed the cache!) We recommend using the hints when you get close. A little scrambling is required.
