From this site you can observe birds, butterflies, and other wildlife, as well as the unique vegetation known as a "shinnery."
This facility is part of the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge. It was established to protect the habitat of the endangered Black-Capped Vireo and Golden-Cheeked Warbler.
