Geocache Description:

A two leg walkable multi-cache in Fairmount Park where the structures are more than they seem. Cache is a 35mm micro with a stub pencil, log, and unexpected treasure. Bring a partner or children for some extra fun!

Go to the cache coordinates. You can park on the shoulder pretty much anywhere you like. Traffic is generally very light.

Situated on a meadow in Fairmount Park, its high copper dome is visible for miles. Memorial Hall was conceived as an international art gallery and served as Philadelphia's art museum for fifty years. President Ulysses S. Grant opened the hall. Many equally impressive structures once surrounded this building (as the surrounding empty fields testify). An exhibition in the basement pays homage to the first World's Fair ever held in America.

For what year was this building constructed? Take this number and divide by 100, drop the numbers to the right of the decimal point, then multiply by 10. Subtract your final number from the Longitude.

How many large sculptures of people are visible on the building from where you stand? Take this number and multiply by 3. Subtract your final number from the Latitude.

Go to the new coordinates.

The Smith Memorial Arch honors Pennsylvania's Civil War military and naval heroes. One interesting aspect of this colossal work is the inclusion of a statue of Richard Smith, who paid $500,000 to create the work in the late 1890s. Smith, whose wealth came from making printers type, was not a Civil War hero. The arch contains five full statues and nine busts of great Pennsylvania military men. About a dozen artists worked on the piece, which explains why it took 15 years to complete. But the most unique -- and certainly the most fun -- aspect of the piece are stone benches at the base of the arch. A person sitting at one end of the bench can turn and whisper into the wall behind him. A second person sitting at the opposite end can clearly hear what is being said.

Being an urban location, there are very few places for things to be hidden. This cache is tucked away from casual view. Please rehide the cache as well as you found it. If it is left visible it will disappear quickly.

The clue is given in several steps. The final clue is a dead giveaway.
