Geocache Description:

To find this cache you will have to enter the caravan park (Pearson Park Resort) behind the Colchester service station.

An entry fee of R25 / vehicle is charged for day visitors, but if you are only going to find the cache, I suggest that you tell the boom operator that you just want to have a quick look around. They more often than not, will allow you 30-45 minutes to drive around without paying.

To find the cache drive and park as close to S33 42.282 E25 50.454 as you can get. There you will have the river of to one side and a hill on the other. Walk to the hill where you can see a sheltered bush braai area. Behind this there is a overgrown path, with lots of small game prints and droppings that zig-zags up the hill, which you have to follow. The climb is strenious in places, but wont take more than 10 minutes in total.

About 70% of the way up you will find a rocky outcrop to your left, facing the top of the hill, the cache is hidden there.

The path is not easy, my sister and I found the going reasonable, though we did end up with lots of scratches on our legs. It is worth to note that she wore a skirt and sandals, so hiking gear is not essential.

If you would like to know the original contents of the cache then follow this link.
