Last maintained June 2022. Forest fire damaged container so we upgraded with an orange cabelas box. Hint... look for a large rock. There might be an old beer can on the rock. No telling :-) South side of lake Monroe. You will need a float plane! Best place I've ever seen for a shore lunch. Lodging near by with Loon Haunt Outfitters. We planted a sister cache at the north side of the lake too.
This is a cache located very near Monroe lake in mid Ontario. Named in memory of our Dad and Grandfather, who would have loved to fish this place. North out of Red Lake via float plane, this is a 15 minute flight. There is an outpost fishing camp here that is very reasonable. Check out www.loonhaunt.com and look for details about Monroe lake. Cache is now an orange cabelas box.. Contents are just a few fishing lures, and the logbook. P.S. Never fish the portage lakes without a landing net!
