Geocache Description:

Let me not mourn for the men who have died fighting, but rather let me be glad that such heroes have lived.
General George S. Patton

An interesting little park dedicated to those who have served. A very short jaunt off 80, and well worth the side trip.

Love your country and live with pride,
And don't forget those who died.
America, can't you see.....

All gave some,
and some gave all.
And some stood through for the red, white and blue,
And some had to fall.....

And if you ever think of me,
Think of all your liberties
and recall.....
Some gave all

(Some Gave All, by Billy Ray Cyrus).

As I was driving into town, This park caught my eye. It is Winnemucca's way of honoring those who have served in the armed services. The sacrifices that they have made, then and now, for our country, are immense!!

To "find" this cache, simply email me the answer to the following questions. As always, no "give aways" in your log. Thanks!!

1: What is the name of this park?

2: There is a marker that dedicates the park. What is the name and post number of the veteran's organization that dedicated the park?

3: How many pieces of equipment are on display here??

4: One of the pieces of equipment has a special message to all veterans in general, but especially to Vietnam vets. What is the message?

Thanks for visiting. I hope you find the spot interesting.

NOTE..... As an added bonus, for a great view of Winnemucca, continue north on the highway for about 2 1/2 miles, and turn left at the sign for the local dump. Pass the dump, and the road continues on to the top of Winnemucca Mountain, (The one with the big "W" on it) to a part of what used to be Winnemucca Air Force Base. It's a very short drive up the mountain, and the views from up there are AWESOME!!!
