This is a 'new' memorial to the veterans of all wars. It has an interesting history behind it.
This 'new' memorial is the result of several years of wrangling between the government and fans/veterans of Maryland and was necessitated by the demolition of the original site. It appeared that the original memorial would either get trashed, reduced in magnitude or put in long term storage. The sense of patriotism that has overcome the country since 9/11 probably helped elevate the priorities. The overall result is well done and hopefully satisfies all parties.
There is very short term parking near the Light Rail station (39 16.983N, 76 37.198W) in front of the Warehouse for shopping at the Orioles store in the Warehouse. When there isn't a game in town, parking is fairly easy esp., off business hours. You may want to spend some time and enjoy the adjacent downtown area, especially the Inner Harbor a couple blocks East. The easiest way to do this is to take the Light Rail although the Metro also gets you fairly close. If you have extra time (and money) you may want to take in a game next door (north OR south).
