My daughter and I found this trail quite by accident. The trail parallels Goose Creek and ends up at the Potomac River. Round trip is approximately 5 miles. Last third of trail has nettles, and is very well marked.
Sept 2004 - Golf course complete - cache re-established close to old location. Look for an extension of cache line this fall.

Cache is a small Tupperware container and located in a traditional hiding spot. Along the way you will pass a number of other caches placed out. You can either search for the caches on the way in, or on the way out. Unfortunately this is not a loop trail.
Along the first 1/3 of the trail you will see heavy use by fisherman. (Fly, spinner and bait fishing). Quite a few people were caching small mouth bass and catfish, so bring your pole if fishing is something you like doing.
Last 1/3 of the trail has nettles, and can be a little painful if you are wearing shorts. Trail isn’t as defined, but it is not too tough to get around. Mosquitoes are present as are ticks, so you may need bug spray.
You could also see many different types of boats on the creek. Amazingly you will also come across white water, and slow moving stretches, all with very nice views. Getting to the Potomac is worth the hike, and you can see how wide the river can get. Interesting spot at the end, with unexpected Private Park and golf course on the opposite bank!
Enjoy the hike and take in the beauty, as you will experience different terrains and eco systems along the way.
