Geocache Description:

The Cache is located in the 10th district in the south of Vienna. It's in the recreation-area called "Wienerberg".

The area was a former clay pit. Most of the old buildings in Vienna were built with bricks from this clay.

Details about the area can be found at:
http://wien.gv.at/wald/erholung/wienerberg.htm (site in german).

You can reach the cache area by public transport. Take the U1 to "Reumannplatz", and there you take the tram 67 direction "Otto-Probst-Platz" till "Wienerfeldgasse". The starting point is very close to this station. Those coming by car, can park in "Neilreichgasse". The trail is most of it`s length a gravel walk. Only the very last meters before stage 4 you have to leave the way.
Length: 4 km, Difference in Height: 100 m.

The above difficulty and terrain rating was done with the program from geocaching.com. To be internationally comparable I'm using this result. (See the discussion in the forum also.) My personal opinion is a rating of 2 stars for difficulty and 1.5 stars for terrain.

Stage 0: Initial Point
N0 =  48° x0´ where x0 = 09.552
E0 = 016° y0´ where y0 = 21.471
Close to the gate of the dog free zone you'll find a way marker (paint on a tree!).
Is this marker
- white/red then A = 5
- white/green then A = 9
- green/red then A = 12
- white/pink then A = 27
- silver/black then A = 39
- white/gold then A = 49
- white/blue then A = 62
In case of problems use hint!

Stage 1: The Gnome
N1 =  48° x1´ where x1 = x0 + (4 * A + 4) / 1000
E1 = 016° y1´ where y1 = y0 - (5 * A + 33) / 1000
At this stage you will see a grey gnome. Use the number (BB.C/D) on his body to calculate the next stage.

Stage 2: The Green Dragon
N2 =  48° x2´ where x2 = x1 + (BB * C * D + 18) / 1000
E2 = 016° y2´ where y2 = y1 - (BB * C * 10 - 51) / 1000
After a fight with the son of the foul-smelling green dragon look at a bench near the dragon. Take the number of wooden seating parts (without counting the back rest) for (E).

Stage 3: The Web
N3 =  48° x3´ where x3 = x2 - (90 * E) / 1000
E3 = 016° y3´ where y3 = y2 + (20 * E + 7) / 1000
Look for an object which represents 2/3 of the web. Count all the holes (FF) where the wind can blow through. Not far from this object there is an inn where you can eat and drink before you continue with your search.

Stage 4: The Cache
N4 =  48° x4´ where x4 = x3 + (2 * BB + C + FF) / 1000
E4 = 016° y4´ where y4 = y3 - (2 * BB + C + D + FF) / 1000
The direct way is not allways the best! Use the path as long as you can. Leave the trail only for the very last meters. Good Luck!

The cache initially contains:
