MOOG's Adopt-A-Highway Summer 2003 Cleanup.
Date: Saturday, July 19th, 2003
Time: 10:00am
Where: Meet near milemarker 87 on US93/12, between Lolo and Missoula, at the old weigh station
pullout on the east side of the road. ( N46° 48.306' W114° 05.874' )
As required by the Montana Dept. Of Transportation (MDOT), all
participants must attend a safety meeting prior to the cleanup. Please be
sure to be at the meeting point no later than 10:00 so that we can have the
meeting and get to the cleaning as quickly as possible. To log a find for
this event cache, you must attend the meeting and participate in the entire
cleanup.
MDOT will provide orange safety vests for each participant to
wear during the cleanup, warning signs to passing motorists to be posted at
each end of the cleanup area, and trash bags.
Each participant must provide their own latex gloves. Some of
the trash found along the highway can be very nasty, so for your own health,
don't forget your gloves. Motorists tend to drive fast on this section
of highway, so all children must be accompanied, and directly supervised,
by a parent or legal guardian throughout the cleanup.
If you plan to participate, please post a note to this
page, so that we know how many vests to bring. The more participants
we have, the faster this will go, and the sooner we can all get to hunting
other caches that afternoon.
Participants do not need to be members of MOOG. Anyone wanting to help need only attend the 10:00am safety meeting immedietly prior to the cleanup.
