Geocache Description:

When walking in Dartmoor, always carry a map and compass.

On the moorlands in Great Britain it is often possible to see boundary marks. I'm not sure whether this is a boundary mark, but some initials have been inscribed into the rock in the photo. You need these initials to claim a find.
I think this is a fine walk, you can see stone circles and a stone row nearby.
WARNING
In the northern part of Dartmoor you are never far from a military range. This is from www.dartmoor-ranges.co.uk "The perimeters of the Range Danger Areas are marked on the ground by outward facing warning notices on red and white posts. These warning posts and notices indicate the limit of safe approach to a Range Danger Area. When firing is in progress (on one, two or all three Ranges) Warning Signals - red flags by day and red lights by night - are displayed at certain points appropriate to each range and byelaws forbid entry into the Range Danger Areas displaying warning signals and is of course dangerous. When no warning signals are displayed it is quite safe to enter the Danger Area of that specific Range." You have no need to cross a military range to get to this cache. Also this is moorland in Great Britain, sometimes it rains - be prepared, its a long walk.
