Geocache Description:

Yes, thats right!! We're inviting you to our 1st Annual Summer Picnic. It is being held at Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, what use to be known as Lebanon State Forest. *** Rain or Shine ***

The above coords will take you to the Pakim Pond Picnic area and parking lot. Starting at 8:30 am till 6 pm. We have reserved the pavilion right next to the actual pond, there is picnic tables around and grills. So bring the kids and their sand buckets and shovels for some fun. For more information about the park and camping options here is the web site with all the info and contact numbers.

Brendan T. Byrne State Forest/Park

Trauma and myself will be providing limited food and drink, so if you can help out please log as a note, tell us how many in your party, if you can help bring anything and what it will be. So we all don't bring the same thing. Below are a list of caches already out in the Forest area, so you may print them out so you can also cache in on them while you are here.

We will be hiding a bunch more just for the picnic and they will stay in the park as geocaches for everyone who couldn't make it can seek out too. If you would like to help hide some please email me and let me have a link of the cache(s) that you have hidden so I can add them to the print out packs and lists. I have to have them by June 19th.

What you should bring to the cache picnic:

  1. You and your party
  2. GPS, compass, camera and cache goodies to trade
  3. Chairs (if you want)
  4. Any food item you have mentioned in your log note that you will be bringing to share

Oh & also bring an item to be placed in a cache we will be hiding after the picnic. (Example: shotglass, hand towel, postcards, key chain, salt & pepper shakers, magnets, pens, pencils or even a small t-shirt and or signature items.) Sorry no match books.. this is a state forest we don't need SMOKEY THE BEAR after us!! There will be a log book for you to sign and a cache container to drop your item off into. This cache will be named by the 1st person or group who show up at the picnic. They have all day to think of a name for it and at the prize giveaway the name of the cache will be given out. It will then be listed to our caches for the picnic and you will be able to log this one too, as long as you brought something and signed the logbook.

What to expect at this all day picnic:

  • 8:30 am - 6 pm : Pick up cache print outs, chat and geocache with groups or just your family and or self.
  • 12 (noon) : Lunch come on by and grab a bite to eat, chat and watch the kids have fun with a pinata filled with goodies and candy. Then more geocaching!!
  • 4:00 pm : Meet back at the Picnic area for a group photo, chat and more geocaching afterwards.
  • 6 pm : Picnic will be packed up & everyone has a good rest of the weekend!! Happy Geocaching!!!
