McDowell # Four Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

NCreviewer: This cache was brought to my attention as being in a Mecklenburg County property that now requires permits for geocache placements. Existing caches are not grandfathered in, and need to have permits. If you have a permit for this cache or get one at some future date, please contact me through my profile and I will be happy to unarchive the listing if it meets all current geocaching.com guidelines. Feel free to contact me through my profile with any questions. I do not see logs posted to disabled or archived caches.

Geocache Description:

A nice walk on a "Shady" trail.

This is one of four caches that have been placed in/around McDowell Park in Southern Mecklenburg County for the Assembly of the Parks and Recreation leaders throughout the State. The caches will be used as a teaching tool to encourage more visitors to utilize their parks.

The caches will be noted as McDowell # One, McDowell # Two, McDowell # Three and McDowell # Four. All caches will be in different locations and none will be no more than ¼ of a mile (straight line) from the Parking Lot at the Pavilion behind the Nature Museum. The cache containers are generally medium sized Tupperware type although there might be several screw top containers among the four. All containers have been camouflaged to some extent and placed within 25-35 feet of the path.

If you find the cache, don’t forget to sign the log book in the cache container and if you take an item, leave an item.

Remember: obey all park rules and regulations, always walk with a friend and bring some trash out with you when you exit.

This Park requires a small entry fee on the weekends so come prepared.

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[This is in a totally different direction than the other three McDowell caches. The camouflaged cache is just off the path and not on the ground.]
