Geocache Description:

Cache replaced 14/08/05! ! ! This cache is suited to hikers or 4x4 enthusiasts keen on a great view of Southern Johannesburg and has a great bonfire location especially at night if you own a 4x4.

A 4x4 will make it up the ONE difficult obstacale which is a steep ramp up to the picnic spot. It's just the loose rocks that make it difficult but novice 4x4 drivers beware. Otherwise park on the highway onramp, its very secluded and quite safe.

5l Icecream container. Check photo for original contents. Also, take a photo of yourself and leave the camera, I will develop the film if somebody lets me know when the spool is finished.

((Old Route starting at Voortrekker and Vlei in Southcrest just North of Alberton: Start at: S 26 15.393' E 28 06.775' at 1616m. This is a small park and the entrance to the trail is at a small sign 2m above ground.
At S 26 15.432' E 28 06.701' at 1609m follow right trail. Left is a difficult 4x4 trail towards next co-ord:
At S 26 15.481' E 28 06.620' at 1613m follow right trail.
At S 26 15.514' E 28 06.477' at 1624m follow right trail.
At S 26 15.529' E 28 06.410' at 1608m follow right trail. Left goes under Highway and onto Alberton golfcourse. Don't go there they will get upset and ruin it for future Cache Hunters.
Go diagonnaly between two tall trees. One has a white dot sprayed on it and a previous marking "T" and an arrow. Follow the waterpipe uphill. There are some white arrows sparayed on rocks - follow them. Last downhill curves to the left and then you are almost at the start of the steep ramp: S 26 15.614' E 28 06.140' at 1618.
Picnic Spot: S 26 15.649' E 28 06.207 at 1628.
At picnic spot turn left (North) and walk uphill towards cache. It is wrapped in a tan coloured dishcloth (camo) and is under a black rock amongst a small clump of bigger rocks.))
An alternative like this one above will be published soon but for now we suggest you find this cache via the highway. Sorry it's been so long.

Highway access: Get onto R59 in Tulisa Park and take the first turn off which is the N12 to Witbank road. The onramp is long, wide and curves downhill. Look for a white cross painted on the cliffside as soon as you can see the N12. Park in the yellow lane and reverse your car behind the barriers and onto to trail. There is no Pedestrian traffic for miles around so you are quite safe there. The Highway onramp parking is at S 26 15.691' E 28 06.183' at 1607.
