Coordinate readings taken using an e-Trex and were averaged over 8 different readings with the best indicated accuracy of 21 feet.
The “Cajun Cache” is located only a few feet off a “regular” trail. The elevation gain from one of your possible parking places will be about 1,300 feet and the trail is about 2 miles long (and fairly steep in some spots). You’ll pass an old mining area on your way. You’ll have some great views of “a lake”, the Continental Divide and a Ski Area on your climb. It can be windy and somewhat cool up on top, even on a summer day so be prepared!
The Cajun Cache is a olive-drab, ammo box (don’t remember the caliber) but it’s a “decent sized” box.
Original items placed in Cache:
Lots of Mardi Gras “stuff” (beads, a doll, cups, small, football, medallions, etc.)
A fresh 4-pack of AA Batteries
Some packs of “Handi Wipes”
Some “Hand Warmers” (for cold weather use)
A disposable camera
A new CD game “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”
A logbook with felt-tip pen, pencil, and sharpener
A welcoming message with a photograph of the cache owners
Good Hunting!!!
