Geocache Description:

A nice walk up the woods

Adams wood is one of the Woodland Trust. Now I have been told this information and if its not correct let me know and I will add it to the stuff I am about to waffle about. Adams wood was the site that birch wood has been grown and managed for at least 100 years. A William Birch who was a furniture maker in Wickham made chairs and other items from the trees in this wood. Existing pieces of furniture made by Birch are vary valuable today. Birch also did large batches of furniture for the Liberty & Co. which was the IKEA at the turn of the 1900. So much for my limited research on this subject.

In this valley area are 3 caches and if you plan out your parking location you could do all three in a curricular route all down foot paths. The number of great pubs alone could keep you happy. For this one I parked at The Frog in Skirmett, are you smiling yet and came out in Fingest. Now when D&P put one on Turville Hill by Cobstone Mill there will be four on the walk. The views from the Fingest side of the hill are real nice.

Due to the tree cover the cords were taken on the path near the gates. Now there is not a lot of places to hide things so this is your clue: It’s under the biggest source for a needed raw material for a religious holiday?

Enjoy
