Geocache Description:

A traditional cache located a short way off bike trail in the Croom section of the Withlacochee State Forest (listed by the World Wildlife Fund as "One of the 100 Coolest Places You've Never Seen"). The cache is .6 miles from the parking, an easy walk except for the last bit which is steep. It is possible to find a gentler entry by circling the pit.

Cache is in a large mining pit, long abandoned and heavily reforested - one rather exuberantly known by local bikers as the "Grand Canyon". A premier biking and hiking area with large and small mining pits, tailings piles, biking, hiking, horse trail and old vehicle tracks. Some unique features and terrain.
