Farshatten was the site of a small but important fortress for the local people hundreds of years ago. You can still see parts of the fortress walls near the top. Situated on the border between Skedsmo and Sørum municipalities.
Not a very long walk, but the shortest way is not the easiest. Car or train to Leirsund north of Lillestrøm. Continue Branderudveien until you reach the carpark area near the lake Stampetjern. (Why not take a bath while you’re there!) Walk the path on the eastside of the lake, continue up the narrow valley to Lundertjern. The hillsides are steep, the best way to get up is to follow the lakeshore 100-150 meters NW before you turn south again. Be careful when you reach the top, do not risk falling!
