Geocache Description:

It's a multicache- you'll need to explore the area to get the coordinates. Once you have calculated the co ordinates the cache is a 1.7 mile (2.7km) walk starting at the above co ordinates. Go through the gate on walk on the East side of the Bedford River. Keep walking until you cross a stile and when you are in line with the sluices the cache is nearby.

The cache is hidden about a mile from Denver Sluice, where a large amount of carefully managed Fenland Water comes together. It can be remarkably quiet out there- there's a pub, which is busy on sunny weekends, and a sailing club, but go for a little walk and you'll very quickly be away from people. The Denver complex contains several sluices, channels and other water management stuff. You'll need to wander about these to find information for the cache coordinates. The coordinates given for the cache are those of the 1st sign which explains the Denver Complex, and contains the first clue. The actual cache is at N52:3A.7B(C-3) E00:D9.EFG The first sign (N52:34.994/E000:20.467) tells you that the New Bedford River shortened the distance from Earith to the sea by EF kilometers. (This sign has fallen off and is hard to read but EF = 16) Next, cross the bridge over Denver sluice, and (on the upstream side) examine the piece of timber from John Rennie's replacement lock. The lower plaque mentions that the timber was removed from the lock in 19BC. The nearby sign shows Denver Sluice collapsed in 171A and was rebuilt in DG50
