Geocache Description:

On the Lake Bonneville Shoreline above the town of Erda. This cache should be accessible even in the winter (except right after heavy snow storms). Nice view of Erda, Stansbury Park, the Great Salt Lake and 2 of the TV Towers on Farnsworth Peak. I have changed the difficulty levels from 1.5/1.5 to 2.0/2.5 recently.

This cache should be interesting to the kids that are going out more and more with the parents. It has nothing but gum in it to begin with. It is in a small 30 Cal. Ammo Can and has Double Bubble (individually wrapped) and 5 stick packs of Wrigley's Spearmint, Extra Cinnamon, Extra Bubble Gum, and Extra Winterfresh. Go ahead and take a piece/pack and enjoy.

My request is that if you leave something, then please leave something from another cache, or some gum (please no ABC gum) or candy. If you do leave something from another cache, please let me know where it came from, so that I can keep track of where items came from. Please don't take the things that others have left from other caches (except things like Cach-U-Nuts, etc.) I will check this cache from time to time and use these items to create a new cache.

If the cache is getting low on gum, please e-mail me and I will go replenish it.

You can park at N40° 37.156' W112° 14.952' and you will have about .4 miles and 200 ft in elevation to hike. Just about any vehicle should be able to make it to these coordinates. (3/16/13 Unless you have a high clearance vehicle or an ATV do not attempt to drive to this location. Please see waypoints for a better parking location.)

Or, you can park at N40° 37.441' W112° 14.723' which is by a horse gate. The state put a fence up here about 2 years ago just to keep OHV and 4x4's from digging up the mountain. You can cross the gate and walk along what use to be a road right up to the cache. The hike is on fairly even terrain and is about .6 miles. To get to this parking area, you should only use an OHV or a truck that has a High Ground Clearance and don't try it when it has been raining/snowing.

When you find the cache, be careful, there are some fairly large rocks (20 lbs. or more) hiding it.

Keep on Caching!

03/16/13: Update UNLESS YOU HAVE A HIGH CLEARANCE 4X4 or ATV DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE TO EITHER OF THE PARKING LOCATIONS! Your best bet is to park at the lower gate (N 40 37.443 W 112 15.982) and walk. Its just under 2 miles to the hide. If you do have one of the above options then enjoy the easy drive and the shorter walk.
