This cache is divided into seven stages. At the final stage a cache container is hidden. The other stages guide you through the search, but their main purpose is not for chasing numbers, but to lead you to places which are of interest in my opinion. It should, however, stay a surprise to which locations the cache leads to, so coordinate manipulations are absolutely necessary as I do not like micro stages.
Start
A potential starting point for the cache hunt is the former inn Lampersberger in Kreuzberg (N 47° 10.291, E 15° 29.100) where I started. You can leave there your car, or go there by bus. Starting from there, expect a walk of about 8 kilometers length. You can either follow the road to Stage 1 or take a detour via the forest which was what I did when I hid the cache. Alternatively, you can e.g. start close to Stage 1 where it might, however, be more difficult to park your car at sunny days. Depending on the paths you choose, around 200-300 height meters are waiting for you. You will be rewarded by a nice view if the weather is fine.
A map is not strictly necessary, but may come in handy, in particular if you do not know the region.
Stage 1: N 47° 10.758', E 015° 28.517'.
You will find yourself close to a spring. The fourth letter of the name of this spring leads to the number a (use the code A=1, B=2, ..., Z=26).
Let b=a-2, x=a*a, y=x+3.
Stage 2: N 47° 10.y3y', E 015° 28.x15'.
You will find yourself close to a large building. Look for a coat of arms on the building (it is not necessary to enter private property!). Count the number of occurrences of the most frequent letter in the text arranged in circular form. Add 2 to this number and call the result u.
Stage 3: N 47° 10.ybu', E 015° 28.ab1'.
Another spring! Take the fifth letter of the name of this spring. Use the code A=26, B=25, ...., Z=1 to obtain the number c associated with this letter.
Let defg be the year mentioned on the sign attached to the fountain. Close to the fountain you will find an aspen. A sign tells you the typical blossom period of this tree. Let h be the number obtained from the first month of this period. Moreover, let i=f-1.
Stage 4: N 47° 10.i9b', E 015° 2e.hbf'.
Another tree (in case of doubt take the tree closer to a way crossing): The Latin (botanical) name of this tree (see the sign) consists of two words. Let k be the number of letters of the second word, and set m=k+a.
Stage 5: N 47° 10.hff', E 015° 2e.igm'.
Look for a Latin text. Let n be the total number of letters in the third line of this text. Moreover, let o be the Arabic number which corresponds to the Roman number at the end of the text.
Stage 6: N 47° 10.ghi', E 015° 2e.xdd'.
The sign placed in 1997 commemorates z years of existence of an association.
A final calculation: Let p=o-z-n, q=z/i and v=q-1.
Stage 7 (Final): N 47° 1p.vve', E 015° 2e.hqa'.
The cache container (a tupperware-like box of dimensions 17cm x 10 cm x 5 cm) is hidden at a tree (new hideout, July 2010) not very far from the path (please be careful not to be watched). A spoiler photograph is available. The cache box is covered with camouflage material. Please rehide the cache well again.
Idea behind the cache/Trading items
It would be fine if you only trade items that originate from your own travels abroad. Feel encouraged to add a brief comment on the origin of the items you trade in. I enjoy travelling very much. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about other cultures and people. Nowadays international understanding is more important than ever, in particular as a modest contribution to the peace our world would need so urgently.

Dieser Cache gliedert sich in 7 Stationen. An der Endstation ist ein Cachecontainer versteckt. Die anderen Stationen begleiten durch die Suche. Ihre eigentliche Aufgabe ist aber nicht das Sammeln von Zahlen, sondern den Cachesucher an Orte zu führen, die mir interessant erscheinen. An welche Orte der Cache führt soll vorab ein Geheimnis bleiben, daher sind die Koordinatenmanipulationen unumgänglich zumal ich keine Micro-Zwischenstationen mag.
Start
Ein möglicher Startpunkt für diesen Cache ist das ehemalige Gasthaus Lampersberger in Kreuzberg (N 47° 10.291, E 15° 29.100), wo ich startete. Es gibt dort eine Parkmöglichkeit und man kann hierher auch per Bus kommen. Bei Wahl dieses Ausgangspunktes ist eine Wanderung von ca. 8km zu absolvieren. Man kann entweder entlang der Strasse zu Station 1 gehen, oder einen Umweg durch den Wald nehmen wie ich es tat. Durch Wahl anderer Startpunkte (z.B. in der Nähe von Station 1) kann die Tour abgekürzt werden, allerdings kann es an schönen Tagen schwerer sein einen Parkplatz zu finden. Abhängig von der Wegwahl sind etwa 200-300 Höhenmeter zu bewältigen. Bei schönem Wetter entschädigt eine schöne Aussicht für die Mühen.
Eine Karte ist nicht unbedingt erforderlich, kann aber praktisch sein, insbesondere dann, wenn man die Gegend nicht kennt.
Station 1: N 47° 10.758', E 015° 28.517'.
In unmittelbarer Nähe befindet sich eine Quelle. Der vierte Buchstabe ihres Namens führt auf die Zahl a (verwende den Code A=1, B=2, ...., Z=26).
Setze b=a-2, x=a*a, y=x+3.
Station 2: N 47° 10.y3y', E 015° 28.x15'.
Suche ein Wappen auf dem großen Gebäude (es ist nicht nötig, privates Eigentum zu betreten). Zähle wie oft der häufigste Buchstabe im kreisförmig angeordneten Text auftritt. Addiere zu dieser Anzahl 2 und nenne das Ergebnis u.
Station 3: N 47° 10.ybu', E 015° 28.ab1'.
Noch eine Quelle! Bestimme den fünften Buchstabe des Namens dieser Quelle. Verwende den Code A=26, B=25, ...., Z=1, um die Zahl c zu errechnen, die diesem Buchstaben entspricht.
Bezeichne defg das Jahr, das auf dem Schild zu finden ist, das beim Brunnen angebracht ist. In der Nähe des Brunnens befindet sich eine Espe. Ein Schild informiert über die typische Blüteperiode dieser Baumgattung. Sei h die Nummer des ersten Monats dieser Periode. Ferner setze i=f-1.
Station 4: N 47° 10.i9b', E 015° 2e.hbf'.
Noch ein Baum (im Zweifelsfall nimm den Baum, der näher an einer Kreuzung liegt): Seine lateinische (botanische) Bezeichnung besteht aus 2 Wörtern (siehe Schild). Sei k die Buchstabenzahl des zweiten Wortes. Setze m=k+a.
Station 5: N 47° 10.hff', E 015° 2e.igm'.
Halte Ausschau nach einem lateinischen Text. Sei n die Anzahl an Buchstaben in der dritten Textzeile. Ferner sei o die arabische Zahl, die der römischen Zahl am Textende entspricht.
Station 6: N 47° 10.ghi', E 015° 2e.xdd'.
Das Schild wurde 1997 als Erinnerung an z Jahre Bestand einer Vereinigung aufgestellt.
Eine letzte Berechnung: Setze p=o-z-n, q=z/i und v=q-1.
Station 7 (Finale): N 47° 1p.vve', E 015° 2e.hqa.
Der Cachebehälter (eine Plastikdose mit Ausmaßen 17cm x 10 cm x 5 cm) ist seit Juli 2010 bei einem Baum nicht allzu weit von einem Weg versteckt (bitte achtgeben nicht beobachtet zu werden). Ein Spoilerfoto steht zur Verfuegung. Der Cache ist mit Tarnmaterial abgedeckt - bitte wieder gut verstecken.
Tauschgegenstände/ Idee des Caches
Es wäre schön, wenn nur Dinge, die von eigenen Auslandsreisen stammen, eingetauscht würden. Kommentare im Log zur Herkunft der Tauschgüter sind willkommen. Ich reise sehr gerne. Reisen ist eine wunderbare Möglichkeit mehr über andere Kulturen und Vöker zu lernen. Heutzutage ist Vökerverständigung wichtiger denn je, insbesondere als kleiner Beitrag zum Frieden, den diese Welt so nötig hätte.
