Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Interlaken Park and is a dark green ammo box.

Interlaken Park is one of the jewels of Seattle’s emerald necklace. It is one of the many Seattle parks designed by the Olmsted Brothers as part of their comprehensive park plan of 1903. Interlaken Park was established in 1905 and connects the Arboretum with Volunteer Park. It was a popular bicycle and carriage path in the 1890s. In the 1980s, the city closed a portion of Interlaken Blvd. to car traffic and it is on this road that you can begin your search and enjoy the park. There are several approaches to the cache, but one good PARKING location is at the east end of the closed section of Interlaken Blvd. (N47 38.142 W122 18.229). The difficulty is 2 because it can be challenging to get accurate readings in the park with all the towering trees overhead. And lastly, there are several efforts underway to restore areas of the park so be thoughtful. You will need to take a few steps up off the trail to get the cache. * RE-CLOSE THE BOX TIGHTLY SO IT STAYS DRY. * RE-HIDE IT WELL AND COVER YOUR STEPS OFF THE TRAIL SO IT'S NOT ACCIDENTALLY DISCOVERED AGAIN. Good Hunting.
