L&C Monument Traditional Geocache
Mickey-Mac: I've decided to archive this cache. Apparently it has disappeared - again! And it's too far away from where I live to maintain adequately. Perhaps someone else who lives closer would like to place a cache in that same area? It's a great place for geocachers to go; the view is great!

The Lewis & Clark monument is at coordinates N 41-18.204, W 095-51.489. One way to get there is to take the 25th St. exit south off I-29, and Nash Road east; then through Big Lake Park.
It is 2003, and 200 years since Lewis, Clark and all the other members of their party began a courageous journey up the Missouri to find a water route to the Pacific Northwest. What an interesting part of American history. I’m just finishing the book, Undaunted Courage, which tells about the expedition. While the book is from a factual historical perspective, one can also see the hand of a Higher Power protecting the party both out and back again. It’s a fascinating book. Original contents were many plastic items that reflect the Lewis & Clark expedition:
• 2 Canoes & Teepees
• Numerous American Indians, cowboys & horses
• 2 Campfires & tripods
• 2 covered wagons representing that era
• 2 Playmats & 2 American flags
However, someone has trashed the cache two times, so new ones were placed 4-26-03 and 12-4-04 in a different locations. The latest is farther from the trail. P-L-E-A-S-E cover the cache well when you leave.
Note: Trail can be very muddy if it has rained. Bushwhacking required.
The view from the monument is really worth the trip!!
