The closest access area to this cache is from a small parking lot located on the north side of Roger Stevens Drive, west of the village of North Gower, but east of the intersection of Dwyer Hill Rd. (N45.04.828, W075.48.458).
This is a multi-cache involving several redirect tags, which point the way to the cache. The the redirect tags are copper tags, and placed at head height (or higher) in various kinds of trees. They are usually slightly camouflaged, but actually in quite plain view if you know where to look. The main cache coordinate will take you to the first tag. Coordinates may vary with different types of GPS and phones, confirmed with two GPS's and one iPhone. However, the tags shouldn't be too difficult to find if you know your trees and make use of the hints below.
There's a small amount of bushwhacking involved, but not much. All of the redirect tags are located within a relatively short distance of the main trail that runs north-south into the forest, or off game trails running off to the sides. The cache should be easily winter accessible unless we get a ton of snow. If we've had a lot of snow, you may find it handy to bring along the skis or snowshoes to get to a couple of the tags.
Hazards: As per usual along the main trails of the Marlborough Forest, some snowmobiles and ATVs use the wide north-south main trail to access a major snowmobile route that lies north of this cache. However, this trail is also used by x-country skiers and hikers, so just listen and watch for motorized vehicles.
We have just gone out and confirmed all the tags and the cache, Airedales (who adopted it from Canoemagic) did a great job in handing over the cache to us and we look forward to maintaining it over the coming years.
