Geocache Description:

The Thomas Edison Butchertown House is located in the 700 block of E. Washington St. just north of E. Main St. and between N. Clay St. and N. Shelby St. in Louisville, KY.

As a young man, Thomas A. Edison rented a room in this small house from 1866 to 1867.

A humble telegraph operator during the day, he spent his nights puttering around experimenting. One day he puttered at work and was fired. He left Louisville, moved to New Jersey, and the rest, as they say, is history.

As far as I'm concerned, humankind was well served by that boss that fired young Tom. Had he not done so I might very well be peering into my computer monitor by candle light.

To log this virtual cache please email me the answers to these three questions:

1. To what address did Tom walk from this house each
day?

2. How many of Edison's lights were displayed at the
Southern Exposition held in Louisville in 1883?

3. What number appears in the lower left hand corner
of Historic Marker Sign number 1713?

I hope you pause to enjoy this small historic site. For more information check out (visit link)
