For this cache, you'll end up doing your own card trick, and the result will
magically take you to the cache location!
You'll need 9 cards. Doesn't matter which 9, as long as they are all different.
Shuffle them thoroughy, so that there can be no possibility that I stacked them. (That's a joke!)
- Now deal them into three piles of three cards each, face down.
- Pick a pile. Now pick a card in the pile. Memorize it and place it face down
onto the table. Take the remaining two cards from its pile and place them face
down on top of the card you picked.
- Pick up the entire pile containing the card you picked, and place it on either
one of the other two piles.
- Now pick up the new pile of six cards, and place it on top of the last remaining
three card pile.
Good so far! Now here comes the part you need to do carefully:
- Holding the entire packet of cards face down, deal out one card face down for
each letter in the value of your card into a single pile. For example, if you picked a seven, you
would deal 5 cards: S - E - V - E - N. Use the names of the ace or face cards if
you picked one of those.
- When you have finished, place the remainder of the packet in your hand on top
of the cards you just dealt, also face down.
- Now pick up the entire packet as before and deal a card for each letter of the
word of into a pile. That's two cards, for those who are math-challenged! Once again,
replace the balance of the packet on those cards and pick the whole thing up.
- Now deal one card for each letter of the suit of the card you picked (hearts, diamonds, spades, or clubs) into a pile and place the balance of the packet face-down on top of them.
- Finally, turn the cards over one at a time, starting from the top, until you
see your card. Count the cards as you do so.
n is the number at which your card was located. The cache coordinates
are:
N 37 41.(n)(n+6)(n)
W 121 53.(n+5)(n+2)(n)
Do all the arithmetic above modulo 10; that is, if a sum comes out to be greater
than 9, ignore the first digit. For example, if n = 7, then:
n + 5 = 2,
because the sum (12) is greater than 9.
Good Luck!
