This cache has been archived.

fizzymagic: I checked. It's gone. This area needs another kind of cache; I think I will do a similar puzzle in a new place.

Geocache Description:

NOTE: The listed coordinates are not the location of the cache. The cache location must be determined from the information below.

Long ago, thousands of years before the Indians lived here, there were other inhabitants of this place. Almost all the traces of this great civilization have disappeared. Researchers Aronson, Lorayne, and Krill have uncovered a few ancient artifacts of these people, including small ceremonial containers they used in their worship of pseudonumerology. They appear to have vanished about 40,000 years ago, for unknown reasons.

Perhaps we can imagine the last shaman's final ceremonial:

The wind and rain slash across the earth with a fury. The old shaman stands in the open, arms outstretched, welcoming the sharp bite of raindrops driven onto his face. He turns to the North, the Center, around which all things move, and cries into the thundering storm:

"Maku Topur Dosh!"

He turns to the East, from whence springs new life, and intones:

"Tanit Lator Laat!"

Now the gods know where he is, and where he will soon die. For he is the last of his clan, the end of the line.

He bends down and secures the ceremonial container where it will remain safe. Then he walks silently into the night.
