Geocache Description:

Easy walk on desert ground. Car accessable on good dirt roads. Come and rescue "Squirt", an original NV geocaching traveler.

During the Gold Rush, many people saw The West as a new beginning. Here some found the end. We have explored this area a few times and thought it would be an interesting place for a cache. The town of Rhyolite has had many visitors for more than a century now and as a true Ghost Town it continues to draw interest. This cache is near several monuments that were placed between Rhyolite and the nearby mining town of Bullfrog and the property is shared by both. It doesn't appear that many come to visit the particular surroundings near this cache. You will find the Ruins of Rhyolite, as well as several pieces of very diverse and unique desert art, so close to this cache that it is an irresistable mile to drive. To learn more about Rhyolite visit www.ghosttowns.com and it can be found in a search of Nevada. Cache with log book is in an ammo can with the following:
  • Survive Anything Handbook
  • Emergency poncho
  • Emergency drinking water
  • Folding magnifying glass
  • Antiseptic handwash
  • Snake bite kit
  • Pin-on compass
  • Mini pocket knife
  • Ice cream, ready to eat
  • 4 new AA batteries
  • "Seat Covers"
  • "SQUIRT" the duck taken from the ZZyzx cache forever ago (Sorry Dr. Webe)
"Tara" the travel bug
