Hard as PI Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Markwell: This cache has had a very long run and has been my pride and joy for quite a while, but I cannot maintain the cache as I wish. Problems with Stage Two going missing, the difficulty with Stage Three and the fact that the final booty box seems to have been plundered of its wealth makes it so that I need to archive this cache.

I will place another cache soon in the park where stage one rests, and there already is another cache that starts in the park where the final box is.

I will be allowing Tammiejo to finish finding the cache before collecting the box, but stage two is missing.

Thanks to all who have searched this cache.

Yea----Math Team!

DO NOT EXPECT TO DO THIS ONE IN ONE TRIP!!! This is a multi-stage cache with four points, each one getting progressively more difficult. You will need some special equipment: Paper and Writing Utensil. Don't leave home without them. You could probably use other equipment as well, but telling you would be cheating. The given coordinates are your first straight-forward stash - and parking for that first step is at N41° 36.611 W088° 10.054. The first two containers are identical - and the third is very similar in make. Each stage of the cache directs you with clues to find the coordinates to the next stage (Point A leads to Point B, which leads to Point C, which leads to Point D). The fourth container will be an actual "Booty Box." WARNING: DON'T ATTEMPT SITE 3 AFTER SUNSET. It may not be safe. I'm also going to be a real stickler on this next point:
The only way this cache will stay a level 5 difficulty is if the virtual logs and links do NOT give away coordinates or clues. Please use the honor system to keep this cache a level five difficulty.
Also, please refrain from photos that give any clues as to location. However, I would LOVE to hear your stories of trials and tribulations via e-mail. Good luck!
Markwell

Hard as Pi just got harder!

December 22, 2001
After the last stage of Hard as Pi was reported as vandalized, I went out to do some maintenance. I was extremely surprised at the variance in the landscape from when I placed this cache 6 months ago compared to today. The markers for stage 2 and the final booty box for stage four were right out in the open. I have reworked the last three stages of this cache. Site 2 is now MUCH more difficult to find (you will all be cursing me and insisting that it has gone missing). Site 3's coordinates are now much more accurate (but you'll still have a pretty tough time finding it). The final site is difficult to find - hopefully hard to see for the passerby. I took great care to place the last stage in a location hidden well because I did not want another plundering. Please take due dilligence in replacing the cache exactly as you found it (if you ever do - ).
