Geocache Description:

A cache hidden on an island in the Bahamas

We recently took a cruise to the Bahamas and stopped at Coco Cay.
Many of the cruise lines have their own private islands that they stop at for a day of fun in the sun!

Coco Cay, a.k.a. Little Stirrup Cay, is part of the Berry Island chain of the Bahamas. It is approximately 50 miles from Nassau. There are many island activities to choose from when you visit, including white sandy beaches, snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing and walking along the nature trail.

One of the most unique parts of a visit to Coco Cay is there is only one way to arrive on the island and that is via cruise ship! The cruise ship will anchor offshore and a tender boat will take you to the island.

Some history of this particular geocache – It was originally placed by Schleier7 and has since been maintained by visitors to the island. When you visit, please take temporary ownership of it as guardian and protector. The cache has been there for over six years and has survived at least five hurricanes, along with going through numerous container changes. Please read the most recent logs and help us maintain this cache. If you are unable to help while you are on the island, leave a note in your log for the next visitor indicating the cache needs attention. We would like to see this cache survive for a long time to come as Coco Cay has by far become our favorite cruise stop. Take lots of pictures while there but most of all, enjoy your visit to this beach paradise!

The cache container is a large pill bottle, large enough to hold a log and a couple small travel bugs. It is probably considered a large micro or a small small. If you would like to replace this container with a larger one, please let us know so we can get the cache listing updated as soon as possible.

Thank you and happy caching!

Update: 8/22/17
Thanks to the help of "TheHanlecks", the cache is now a peanut butter jar that is wrapped in duct tape. Happy Caching!!!
