Geocache Description:

It's a stroll along the South bank of the river Tyne, or a drive if you are so inclined.

It show's the rejuvenation can do, 10 - 15 years ago it was a land fill site. The Mauretania was built across the river and down stream about 1/4 mile, while the Earl Mountbattern of Burma's destroyer HMS Kelly was built opposite. She turned over and went down, guns firing, during the battle of Crete in 1943.

Across the river is Segedunum. The end of the roman wall, or Wallsend.

The Cache! It's a 35mm film containe. Has an A4 page as a log, pencil (stubby), a bit of a battered Tweedy Pie, one Jumper clip (sort for settin master/slave on hard drive) and a 10pence peice (flip it in the river an make a wish)!!!

Moss Trooper is a founder member of Geocaching Association of Great Britain
