If you're looking for a great day away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Great views, sea, sky, beaches, barbecue areas and great seafood restaurants!
From Central/Star Ferry, walk to the outlying islands ferry piers. From Pier 4, take the ferry to Lamma/Yung Shue Wan (49 minutes, HK$ 20+). You can also take a ferry from Aberdeen to Yung Shue Wan. From Yung Shue Wan pier, follow the signboards towards Hung Shing Yeh Beach/So Kwu Wan. Beyond the beach, the trail winds up to a pavilion lookout and descends afterwards towards So Kwu Wan. Halfway between the first Pavillion and Sok Kwu Wan, turn right towards Lo So Shing. The cache itself used to be a prominent two-color sign on a wall. The original sign can still be seen but now it's in white on a white background, about 50cm x 50cm in size. To log this cache, tell me the sign via email it to me (don't post it online!). The whole hike is about 4.5Km, slight heigh and easy grade, perfect for families. Allow 90 mins for the walk. After swimming or barbecuing on one of the many nearby grilles, continue towards So Kwu Wan (20 mins), where the ferry brings you back to Central or Aberdeen. On the way to So Kwu Wan, there are a couple of caves you can explore. Bring flashlights! In So Kwu Wan is an ancient temple, which is considered to be several hundred years old. Also, here you find some of the best seafood restaurants in Hong Kong. If you eat at the Winstar restaurant, they pay for your return ferry to Central or Kowloon. Ask for a ticket!
