This is the site of the first state
capitol in Missouri. It was used as the state capitol from June 4,
1821 to October 1, 1826. Four governors ran the state's affairs
from the second floor of the first state capitol. Governor John
Miller oversaw the move to the new capitol in Jefferson
City.
