On May 2, 2000, the U.S. government “flipped the switch” and made accurate GPS available to all. Geocachers proudly call this day Blue Switch Day. Groundspeak is launching a new souvenir to celebrate Blue Switch Day and the innovators who made it possible! Earn the Blue Switch Day 2024 souvenir by finding a geocache, Adventure Lab® Location, or by attending an Event between May 2–5. Happy geocaching!
This will be a great opportunity to earn the souvenir, so come on out if you haven't earned it yet. If you've already earned the souvenor, come on out and socialize. This will be an informal Event from 12 noon to 1 pm at a shelter in Martha Rivers Park. There's no food or drink (unless you want to eat your lunch here). We're just going to get together under the shelter and socialize as only geocachers can. If the shelter is occupied, we'll just meet near the shelter (chairs are good) and have a more informal event. Come, have fun, and earn the Blue Switch Day souvenir.
