Wellington Park - Ivy removal party! 3/3
Find me at the table at this next corner of Wellington Park as the City of Port Coquitlam has us do some invasive ivy removal... Funny that they picked the park a mere 300 metres from my house! You will need to sign a city waiver form to participate. This will be the third of three May work parties to help eradicate the invasive ivy in the park. We will concentrate on the Eastern area between Wellington Ave and the Trans-Canada trail for this CITO.
There may not be work gloves and pruners to use - so please plan to bring your own. I will have tarps to help cart the ivy back to the pick up area, I will bring over a wheelbarrow to help - if you have one to bring along, that would be great. For those of you who find it too strenuous to pull ivy, you are welcome to bring a garbage bag and pickers and work on tidying the garbage that shows up when ivy comes out! Please come dressed to get dirty. There are some brambles in the area to watch out for and this is bear country - although we should be noisy enough that we won't be bothered... We will see after this third work party if we'll need more time allotted to clear my little park!
