The Basics of Geocaching!
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called geocaches or caches, at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.
Join us for an indtrouction to this world-wide game. We will illustrate the basic set-up, create ID's to use in the game, and examine some of the various containers that might be encounter in the wild.
We will talk about the various cache types, and how they differ from one another.
A great way for experienced geocachers to introduce other friends and family members to the game. It will also be a way for newer geocachers to meet other geocachers.
We'll even see if we can find the geocache hidden within the library itself!
