Bodega Marine Lab Tour
Saturday, June 8th 9:30 - 12:00
The Bodega Marine Laboratory, operated by UC Davis, sits on 362 acres of protected land that is used for research and education purposes only. The lab is not typically open to the general public, so we are very happy to have the privilege to bring you and some fellow geocachers on to the property for a full private tour. You can read more about this event below.
Event Schedule
We will meet at Hole in the Head Park at 9:30 am. We will gather here for about fifteen - twenty minutes so everyone can sign waivers and get a gate code to enter the lab property. We will also have the event logbook here. Be sure that you write down the gate code when you arrive so you can enter the property.
At 9:50, everyone will proceed to the Bodega Marine Lab, and we will meet outside the main building by the touch tanks for a quick headcount.
The tour will go from approx. 10:00 - 11:30.
At 11:30, we will bring everyone to a nice space to chat, sign the log if you haven’t, and answer any questions. If you would like to bring your own lunch you can eat lunch here, or you can head out and get lunch elsewhere.
Bodega Marine Lab
The Marine Lab sits atop the beautiful bluffs of Bodega Head on the Bodega Marine Reserve. It has a running seawater system throughout the building, multiple wet labs, and educational spaces for students staying in the on-site housing.
Event FTF Prizes
As this is a private lab tour, there will NOT be a cache published for the event. However, to fulfill your FTF needs for that day, there will be THREE CACHERS randomly picked from the PAPER LOG at the event to claim this cache as a FTF. Make sure to sign the paper log (legibly, please) before the end of the event to be entered into the drawing. The cachers will be picked after the event and listed in an event announcement log, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Please state how many people are in your party in your will attend log. Thanks!
We hope to see you there!
