CITO Event in Northwest Georgia
to Clean Up the Crawfish Springs Wetlands Area
in historic Chickamauga GA!
>p>
Did you know that the original name of the historic little town of Chickamauga was 'Crawfish Springs' ? Team Bear-Cat and the cachers of the Tri-State area (north Alabama, SE Tennessee and NW Georgia) will be supporting the GGA's statewide CITO activities for Earth Day with some classic trash pick-up at the Crawfish Springs Wetlands Area, behind the ball fields in this little city park in Chickamauga GA.
Park at the parking coordinates waypoint and walk around the ballfields to the entrance to the Wetlands (event coordinates). There are two short trails here; hopefully we will have enough people to cover both, and do some much-needed trash pickup and cleanup. The primary walking trail in Chickamauga is paved and essentially level so there will be CITO-opps for all abilities.
Please wear sturdy shoes and work gloves - BUG SPRAY will be important. Waterproof boots might be handy for cleaning stuff in the creek that bounds the wetlands on two sides.
- We will provide trash bags, drinking water and snacks.
- There will be drawings for CITO/Earth Day swag.
- Look for new caches in the area! Chickamauga is cache-friendly!
- New Ad Lab in downtown Chickamauga!
