After founding a nearby hotel for travel bugs I was asked by the property owners if I'd be interested teaching a class about Geocaching. I said yes and now there's one on the books awaiting to turn Muggles into Cachers. One part of caching I neglected for years was attending an event and after attending my first one in 2021 I was hooked. It's a great way to make connections in the community and learn more about the game. To that end I thought why not host one, in my usual haunt of Blue Bell Park, to give a prime opprutunity for those newly minted geocachers to potentially meet the rest of the local crew and attend their first event?
The goal is to meet up in Blue Bell Park at the listed time and have a general meet and greet gathering at whatever picnicing area is open or that I'm able to reserve. I plan on bringing some trinkets along with me including travel bugs to log and potential future caches to be hidden, please feel free to do the same. I also have a small pile of 3d printed cache containers avaialable to anyone interested.
For those new to the location there are a few nearby caches to find and trails leading into the Wissahckon, an amazing natural area with over 100 other caches to find of all shapes and sizes, to find.
