Geocache Description:

21 April 2024, 15:00 - 17:00

This year's GeoTrail officially launches on Saturday, April 20th, so we invite you to wind down your mad dash cache adventure with us on Sunday afternoon. Bee sure to save the date, and crawl, fly, run, jump or swim to this event to help us welcome the 2024 Metro Parks GeoTrail: A Bug's Life!

Come learn about this year's trail, and meet fellow cachers, swap stories, share adventures, enjoy a snack and more. Meet us at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park on Sunday April 21st, 2024 from 3-5PM. We will be meeting at the picnic shelter in the Indian Ridge Picnic Area. You can check in any time between 3:00 and 5:00.

We will be inviting new cachers to join us at 4pm to learn about this awesome hobby we all know and love. If you've been caching for awhile and want to help mentor some newbies, we'd love to have some help teaching them about geocaching and taking them to find their first cache on the GeoTrail.

For the 2024 Metro Parks GeoTrail, the first 100 teams to find any 15 GeoTrail caches are eligible to receive a special edition Metro Parks Geocoin. If you find all 20 GeoTrail caches, you can solve the puzzle and unlock the coordinates for the Bonus Cache.

• Go to metroparks.net to find complete instructions and print the GeoTrail page and search for the Columbus Metro Parks caches at geocaching.com (If the the 2024 page is on the website yet, just be patient!)
• Go to the coordinates using your GPS unit and search for a camouflaged, plastic container, a micro or other tricky container.
• Sign the log, trade trinkets, and read the information under the lid. Add the code for the relevant park.
• Return to geocaching.com to log your find(s) and post comments or photographs.  We read the comments and enjoy seeing your photos!
• Once you find 15 caches and have logged them with geocaching.com, complete the online form to claim your coin!
For more information on Metro Parks and park maps go to metroparks.net.

Please post a “Will Attend” if you plan to join us.

The GeoTrail is designed for all ages and abilities. We hope to see you there!
