On the 5th May 2004, Rattll officially became a geocacher. 20 years later the kids have long since given it up, but mum is still going strong!
I will be tantalisingly close to 14,000 finds, so we'll see how close I can get to making this event the 14,000th - 173 caches in 3 1/2 weeks, who doesn't like a challenge!!!
If you haven't been here before, there are a number of caches around the lake, which is about a 5.5K loop walk or bike ride. We may even have a couple of new one's out for you too.
Lake Ngaroto is also a lovely camping spot where you can stay for free in self contained vehicles, for two consecutive days. I will be there Friday and Saturday nights, so you can come for the weekend, or just come for the day.
Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a leash.
I'm celebrating a little early because this weekend suited better, so come and join me on Saturday 27th April, for a shared picnic/lunch at Lake Ngaroto, to help me celebrate (almost) 20 years of geocaching. Hopefully the weather will play ball, but there will be a small gazebo to shelter under if it doesn't.
WHAT TO BRING :- food to share, drinks, a chair and anything else you require to enjoy the day!
