pwesleynd93: Thanks again to all who showed up and pitched in to collect the trash. We didn't get it all, so we might have another CITO here some day.

Geocache Description:

20 April 2024, 08:00 - 09:00

We thought it might be a good idea to have a CITO before the MAGC event to give some volunteers a chance to join together to do some clean up. The posted coordinates will be where we will meet. This location always seems to have plenty of trash around, so we will gather there and then spread out to collect what we can grab. There is room for parking along Braddock Road, but you can park on nearby Cedar Break Drive if you prefer.

This CITO area is along a creek and there is a path you can take, but the vegetation is fairly densely in many spots, and during this time of year you could be exposed to bugs, critters and poisonous plants. Please be prepared by dressing accordingly and bringing whatever bug spray you prefer.

We'll bring some trash bags, grabbers, and bottled water. Bring your own gloves if you have them. Sometimes there are some fairly large objects, so teamwork might be required to get some of the trash out. We'll coordinate that as needed.

All geocachers are welcome to this event! This is an opportunity to gather and enjoy the camaraderie of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Military Association of Geocachers (MAGC) and serve the community at the same time. This organization is open to all military veterans and their family members, as well as any other geocachers interested in supporting our military. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

MAGC is dedicated to helping military members get to know their area through Geocaching and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow service members. With that in mind, please join us in getting to know your fellow Northern Virginia Cachers! Bring your military experiences, caching stories, ideas and TB's to share during this event.
