What should be celebrated, Paper Plane Day, Dracula Day and / or Kent Day
The following are not reasons or ideas to stay away, no paper, no teeth no Kent Flag, because strangley i have them all!
They following will be available at the event
1) An Event Log to sign, if you want
2) The opportunity to swap and discover Travel Bugs, take away a big one, please
3) The chance that another cacher might nudge you to solve a mystery cache
It is hoped that the area chosen will offer a non windy, tunnel under the road, environment for the longest plane flight to take place in.
It is a competition day if you want to join in, if not bring a chair a form a grandstand and be apart of the judges
The following Paper Plane Competitions will be contested
Rules,
- Each paper entered for a competition must be made from only a single sheet of paper, only folded, no sellotape or adhesives to be used
- a single plane can enter many classes or a different plane can can be used in different classes - suitable identified
Competition Classes
1) The Longest Plane Flight - There is a tunnel under the road, between the two grass areas, this challenge will take place in there, hoping for a stiller air reducing the likihood of wind assisted distance
2) The Highest Plane Flight (Generally a popular vote on whose went highest) - This will take place on the grass area to the south of the road because i believe the highest flight will greatly exceed the confines of the tunnel
3) The most accurate landing, can you land on the runway? Or be closest.- Depending on prevailing weather conditions, degree of difficulty, this may inside or outside the tunnel, i suppose it depends where the runaway is laid.
4) The Biggest Paper Plane - obviuosly if the biggest exceeds the tunnel then this will be help out in the open air
5) The best decorated plane, one entry per person - aimed at the children U16, of course older children can show off their airline logos and this will be held as a parade along the runway past the Air traffic controllers, the judges, in the Control Tower and the prevailing weather conditions may allow an outside fly past allowing the Logos to be seen in their best light or it might be in the tunnel where the lighting will be provided by the runway lights!
