Cache In Trash Out® - Habitat Restoration

A CITO event of habitat restoration will be held at the Evans County PFA.  With the guidance, instruction, and assistance of the Evans County PFA staff, attendees will learn about the importance of fish habitats, along with building and deploying of fish habitats. Attendees will use recycled live Christmas trees to build fish habitats.  We will also be deploying fish habitats in an 84 acre lake, along with the PFA staff.  We'll spend approximately an hour building fish habitats and then approximately forty-five minutes to an hour deploying fish habitats in the pond.  All materials to build the fish habitats will be provided on site.  

Where................... Evans County Public Fishing Area

When..................... Sunday, April 28, from 10 AM to 1 PM

Why........................ Fish habitats aid in the survival of fish in their natural environment, allowing them to survive natural predators, which  allow them to grow.  These habitats also provide a safe refuge for fish to lay their eggs.

Who........................ Due to limited availability of the pontoon boat, only 16 spots are available to the deploy fish habitats into the lake.  The first 16 "will attends" will deploy the fish habitats.  There is no limit on attendees that can assist in building the fish habitats.  

Recommended to bring:

• closed-toed shoes
• clothes you will not mind getting dirty
• work gloves
